I heard about Birdy nearly a year ago when a fellow blogger (sorry, can't remember who) posted a youtube video of her singing a cover of Skinny Love by Bon Iver. I instantly fell in love, but she had no album... so I kind of forgot about her.
Then BAM she shows up on The Hunger Games soundtrack with one of my favorite tracks and I realized that her first album came out last November and I missed it!
Anyway, do yourself a favor and listen to this beautiful and ethereal album of covers.
Some of the musicians she covers are my favorites, like Smashing Pumpkins (Farewell and Goodnight), Bon Iver (Skinny Love), The National (Terrible Love), Fleet Foxes (White Winter Hymnal), The Postal Service (The District Sleeps Alone Tonight) James Taylor (Fire and Rain)... yes, I like James Taylor, don't judge.

i really like this girl. Beautiful voice. I enjoy fantasy sounding voices. They make me all ladylike feeling.. ha ha
