tunes tuesday (on wednesday... and a little bit more).

the man and i are going on a road trip tonight. we're driving out to arizona to go see a play written by "sir" doody (he's the genius who wrote the play i recently starred in) and this show also stars a few other friends of mine. i can't wait to see it. so since we're driving all that way, david and i are taking the opportunity to spend the weekend out there and explore a new city. i'm taking the camera!

and i can't forget to mention that last friday i had the pleasure of being a part of the very first craft cabinet put on by the sweet jules (of pancakes and french fries) and the lovely andrea (of four flights of fancy). it was held right down the street at an adorable little shop called salvage life (i'm going back there next chance i get). i had a great time trying to create my little stamps and chatting away with friends new and old. and the swag was INCREDIBLE. seriously, so good. i hope to join the fun next time around!

i saved this week's tunes tuesday for today because, well, it's a road trip mix and we're leaving today so i thought it'd be appropriate. i hope you enjoy it!

tunes tuesday (special edition).

this week is a special edition of tunes tuesday. i was fortunate enough to be guest blogging on the flowerchild dwelling last friday and as such created a special mix just for the occasion. you can visit the link here to read more on my inspiration for this mix and to listen to it (thanks Kelly Ann!)

it also so happens to be perfect for this week since this mix features one of my favorite bands, Sigur Rós, whom i will be seeing perform live this sunday night. I CANNOT WAIT.

happy tuesday!

inspiring.

i really want to share with you all this beautiful and touching post that i read yesterday by the lovely, talented, & oh-so-kind, Kelly Ann over at The Flowerchild Dwelling. ever since i've known Kelly since coming across her amazing and inspiring blog, i have been continually blessed by her kindness, generosity, & understanding. she's always been encouraging & uplifting and has never looked down on me because i'm just a little blogger in my tiny corner of blogland, which unfortunately happens much too often in this weird subculture of ours. Kelly & i both went to the same college at around the same time, but never knew each other then. as it seems to happen a lot with my favorite blog friends, we had significant connections in the past, but never formally met until blogging brought us together. that is something i find so interesting & crazy about the blog world...

but i digress.

i can't say enough wonderful things about this lovely lady. she is a talented artist (her graphic designs blow me away with their simplicity, beauty, & elegance), she has killer taste in music (you must follow her on 8tracks & listen to her music monday series), and she's just downright precious. you know what? just follow her blog now, you won't be sorry. one of these days i'm gonna hire her to design my blog. it's just bound to happen.

please take a gander over at her post here. her message makes my heart sing.

true love will find you in the end.

wow. it has been an insanely busy couple of weeks months.

yesterday was a little too nuts for me to do a tunes tuesday post, so i'll share my mix today. i hope you enjoy it!

rehearsal for the play i am currently working on, Enlightenment.com, is in full swing and i am truly looking forward to the end result. it's quite a hilarious show and we've got some amazing actors. i love working on a small ensemble cast where we each carry the weight of the story and each character has their essential story to tell. i'm really hoping that a lot of my friends can make it to this play. this particular show means a lot to me and being able to share all of the hard work and long hours that will go (and has gone into it already) will truly mean the world to me. getting support from others in the pursuit of my passion, something so personal and dear to me, is huge, and i really hope we get a great turnout. this show deserves it.

having said that, please come! i know it's a little pricey for a ticket, but when you think about all of the hours and energy and blood, sweat and tears (literally) that we put forth into it (for very little pay or no pay at all), i think that's worth it. we need support to keep doing what we do. you can purchase tickets here AND get a discounted price if you go in a group!

i'd really love to see you there.

this past weekend i attended stella & dot's annual convention, Hoopla, in San Francisco. it was pretty amazing, very encouraging, and totally motivating. i met some really cool people, made connections and learned a lot. i'm very happy that i decided to go. we also saw the new Fall Collection in person and i am telling you, it is INCREDIBLE. every piece is gorgeous and made with such intricate detail. stella & dot produces such high quality, on trend pieces at what i think are amazing price points for the quality you get. this company just continues to amaze me. i really love my job. it seriously doesn't even feel like a job.

check out this cute video of the fall collection

tunes tuesday.

Recently I discovered a really cool site called 8 Tracks that lets you create mixes from your iTunes or MP3 collection and artwork specifically for each mix. I stumbled on this site thanks to the lovely Kelly Ann at The Flowerchild Dwelling. You can find her amazing mix collections on 8 Tracks here, and mine here.

I created this mix while thinking about how nice it will be to relax on a warm Summer Sunday with an ice cold drink in my hand, listening to some soothing summer tracks, preferably on vinyl.

Please enjoy my first mix!
