recipe blog?

Okay I need some opinions people.

I've received quite a lot of emails and comments from my readers asking me if and when I am going to start a recipe blog. I've been thinking more and more about it and I'd really love to start one, but I've already got my weekly WW posts as well as my weekly Film Fridays post, so I don't think I would make it a weekly post.

If I created a separate blog that would be linked up here on He Calls Me Wifey, how many of you would actually be interested in this and actually read it? I definitely want to make sure that if I do this, you all will benefit from it in some way.

Here are a few food related posts I have published in the past:

Probably the most popular one would be Bon Appetit

Then there's the one where I made Dave and apple pie that he really did not want to share

This was a post I did after going back on WW and making  WW friendly meals every day for a week.

So what do you all think? Would you be interested in a recipe blog?

Dub Dub Weigh In

{Week One}

-2.2 lbs
Yesterday was my first week's weigh in back at Weight Watchers. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that I lost 2.2 my first week back, even though I was really disciplined. I tracked every bite and measured out every cup, 1/2 cup, ounce... you name it. But the reason I'm surprised is because I just figured I'd be happy with losing just one pound, or even half a pound, definitely not more than two, but hey, I will gladly take it!
A quick refresher on my current status: since I started WW officially back in 2006, I lost a total of 50 lbs from then to 2009. After my wedding and honeymoon about a year ago I gained back 20 lbs. Since then I lost about 8 lbs. When I started going back to the meetings last week I learned that I had gained back that 8 lbs I lost since my 20 lb weight gain. According to my WW tracker I have currently lost 32.2 lbs.

My goal is to get back to my wedding weight of 140 lbs. I have 17.8 lbs to go! Make sense?
Again I would like to thank all of my family and friends (blogland and real life) who have supported me and my decision to be open and honest about my weight loss journey here on my blog. It's been really encouraging and has helped me not regret this decision at all. Hopefully you'll see less of me next week (geeeeeet iiiit??)!

Meals of the week (WW)

First of all I want to thank everyone who commented on my last blog post, or who sent me emails or FB comments/messages, and texts. Reading how much each person commended me for my courage and honesty really meant the world to me. I still haven't responded to all comments or emails, but I promise I will as soon as possible.

So WW is going well so far. I got really fired up about meal planning for this week and it has definitely gone off without a hitch (well, except for one meal).

I posted photos of most of the meals to Instagram (lovelyladypilot) and I received many comments asking for recipes. One lovely lady named Stacey over at Blogs, Tea & Me suggested I start a recipe page here on my blog and I'm actually considering it!

Anyway, it's become pretty clear to me (AGAIN) how delicious being on WW can be, if you put the work into it and calculate the points that aren't already provided. Here are some photos of this week's dinner.

Monday
Veggie Pizza (Lauren's recipe, but modified for few points)
6 servings, 7 points per slice

Tuesday
Creamy Tomato Basil Soup (WW recipe)
6 servings, 3 points each

Pink Sauce (Homemade Marinara + store bought light Alfredo)
with Rigatoni Pasta
4 servings, 8 points each

Wednesday
Crystal Light Pink Lemonade
0 points per serving

Baked Macaroni and Cheese (WW recipe)
Major fail.
I've made this before with soy milk and it was gross,
but this time I made it with real milk and it was slightly better.
Still a major fail.
6 servings, 7 points per serving

Friday
Celebrating Cinco a day late with Bud Light, Black Bean Soup
and Potato Tacos

Bud Light
1 point per serving

Homemade pica de gallo
0 points per serving

Black Bean Soup (WW recipe)
4 servings, 3 points per serving
Absolutely delish

Potato tacos (my own recipe)
8 points for 3 tacos

Kids' size chocolate frosty for dessert
4 points per serving

Tomorrow I will be weighing in so I will either post my results on Sunday evening or Monday. Wish me luck!
